“You're surnamed Ye, and so am I, so we can mate.”
Lillian Night Heron said this.
“No, no, no, no! My last name isn't Night. Nightwing is my codename. Wait, why would we mate? Do we even know each other?”
Richard Grayson, aka Nightwing, panicked.
Lillian Night Heron tilted her head and studied him for a while before slowly saying, “If you don't want to mate with me, why are you showing me your feathers?”
“I told you, it's an emblem on my uniform!”
After Gotham's wealthy Bruce Wayne adopted him, Richard Grayson's biggest worry changed from how to become a proper Robin as soon as possible to how to get rid of an uninvited night heron.
The sneaky night heron would always slip quietly into his bedroom and perch on the windowsill, staring at him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't chase her away.
Over time, Richard gradually got used to the heron's presence and named her Lillian.
Then one day, the night heron disappeared. He searched everywhere but couldn't find her, and in the end could only hope she'd be living happily somewhere in the world.
Richard, meanwhile, left his mentor and moved to Bludhaven.
On the night he officially debuted as Nightwing, a girl with delicate features but an unremarkable face came to see him.
“Hello, I'm Lillian Night Heron.”
The elders of Lillian's flock told her that only the male bird with the brightest feathers could become her mate.
Across all of Gotham, the Robin at Batman's side had the brightest colors of all.
She watched his life and admired his wings. Then one day, an elder fell ill and she had to return home to deal with some matters. By the time she came back, Robin had transformed into Nightwing.
Looking at the even brighter blue feathers on his chest, Lillian suddenly understood.
He must be courting her.
A radio-wavey, robotic Nightwing trying to act human × a hardworking Nightwing who raises a little bird but keeps getting pecked
A lighthearted, sweet everyday-life story with a happy ending.
No intimate scenes before adulthood.
The female lead is a bird at first and becomes human later.
Theme: When choosing a mate, pick the prettiest, strongest one!
