[Story blurb below]
Drena dies unexpectedly. When she opens her eyes again, she has become the ghostly sidekick of some rich kid from Gotham.
“Come on, can't you let me rest a little longer?” After being forced to accompany the rich kid through an excessively eventful nightlife, Drena can't help complaining loudly. “I'm already dead! Why do I still have to stay up all night with you?”
“Sorry about that.” Timothy cheerfully takes off his nanomask. “I'm a poor high school student juggling several jobs, after all.”
“Oh, then you might not know that I died from staying up too late,” Drena says.
“...Sometimes your dark humor is just as good as mine, Rena.”
Timothy says this to his childhood friend, who died young.
Throughout her childhood, Drena Hatties lived in Timothy Drake's shadow.
Though they were childhood friends from families that had known each other for generations, the two weren't actually close. Drena, at least, didn't want to be close to him.
Come on, don't keep bringing up that awful kid who's better than her at everything!
And so, in the daily competition to outdo her childhood friend, Drena was the first one out.
Drena: “Sorry, I'm quitting this time.”
She quit the circle of life.
But when she saw the usually lively boy standing at her funeral with red-rimmed eyes, Drena decided she might be able to forgive him.
So she became his ghostly sidekick.
And she learned what Timothy was really doing when he kept vanishing during dates.
Drena was baffled. Drena was utterly shocked: You mean you go to school during the day, fight crime as a vigilante at night, somehow stretch twenty-four hours into forty-eight, and still get better grades than me?
Drena: “You jerk! I never want to talk to you again!”
Timothy: “...”
A beautiful fool of a ghostly sidekick who was always sick and eventually died × the world's second-best detective, a lively high school student by day and a vigilante by night
As always, it's a sweet little story, with a happy ending.
Also known as: “What Do I Do After Accidentally Working My Childhood Friend to Death?”
[Before the story goes premium, updates will be every other day at noon. Please add it to your collection and support me~]
Completed story in my collection, upcoming blurb below: “[Western Crossover] The Kent Family Chicken”
Kikena wakes up one day to find that she's finally been stripped of her human status and turned into a little chick about to hatch on a farm.
How did this happen?!
Is she going to have to revive an old classic and reenact Chicken Run after all these years!?
Kikena: “...Huh?”
(Thinking.)
Kikena: “I mean... I guess I could?”
In the end, she is rescued.
Praise Superman.
Kikena now has a lofty dream: to become the most popular chick on the Kent farm.
Easter dinner.
Clark Kent and his wife Lois Lane, Clark's parents, the elder Kents, and their grandson, little Jonathan Kent, sit at the table with their hands clasped and eyes closed in prayer.
“Dear Lord, let us give heartfelt thanks for your blessings, for this bountiful harvest, and for the bread of life. Through your resurrection, you have shown us the meaning of life, ”
“Wait, I don't think this is very respectful to me,” Kikena says.
The Kent family pauses their prayer and all look over.
“Why can't I sit at the table on Easter?” Kikena demands angrily. “Are you discriminating against my kind?”
“Uh...” Poor Clark hesitates. “But, Kiki, there's already a chicken on the table, and you even got one of its legs.”
Kikena burps. Little Krypto comes over and swallows her head whole.
Reading guide:
First-person narration.
The heroine is a chicken spirit (?), and stays a chick the entire time. She never turns human.
Mostly about the Kents' daily life, interactions with little animals, and the Super-Pets League.
All characters are platonic, with no romance. The focus is on fluffy cuddles.
Slow burn.
Upcoming story 2:
“Echoes of Thirty Thousand Years”
Long ago, amid the ruins, a young person asked an elder a question.
“Doctor, is the path of our evolution the right one?”
The elder saw the uncertainty in the young person's eyes. Her gaze swept over the desolate wilderness as the cold morning wind brushed her graying temples. Just as she had answered ten years ago, she gave a firm and unwavering reply.
“Of course.”
This was the path humanity had chosen, a road paved with the flesh and blood of countless people. Many had fallen along the way, yet countless others had still chosen to join them.
Evolve or die. Humanity would fight with its back to the wall.
“You only need to follow this river, one step at a time. Don't lose your way, and don't be afraid. I and many others will meet you at the end of the river.”
“How long will I have to walk, Doctor?” the young person asked.
“There's no point in counting the time, child,” the elder replied.
“But what should I do when I miss you?” the young person pressed.
“Then hold on to that light. Once you reach it, you'll have come to the end of the river.” The elder bent down, kissed the young person's dark hair, and bid her a final farewell.
“We'll meet again in the new era.”
“All right. Goodbye, Doctor.”
“Goodbye, Savior.”
They walked across the vast ice fields, on and on, until the first snow of winter drifted down. In the sudden dawn, they listened to the echoes that had flowed through their blood for thirty thousand years.
On August 31, 2362, the last night of summer vacation, students in despair over their summer assignment deadlines filled the air with their cries.
But the very next moment, heaven and earth shattered, and mountains and rivers were overturned.
The Mountain Lord awoke from a regretless dream, shook out her fluffy fur, and stretched luxuriously.
Theme: Let the world be filled with love.
If they can get to the point of breaking the mirror, it feels like Timmy intentionally allowed this result. After all, Detective Shi Er
The love triangle between the two is also a must-have part of DC [Milk Tea]
Agreed. I once wanted to make egg fried rice, but I added too much water. I thought it could also be made into stewed rice, so I cut a tomato and threw it in. In the end, it turned into tomato and egg soup with rice (?)
