Wen He x Lu You
| Marriage Before Love | The Powerful One Bows His Head | Urban Romance | Fighting to Win Each Other |
A marriage contract.
Wen He, an adopted daughter fostered in the countryside, became the sacrifice.
All because her older sister said she no longer loved him.
She accepted it readily.
Her only concern was that Mr. Lu might have some objections.
Whether due to pressure from his family or simply his nature,
Lu You treated her with humility and courtesy, indulging her in everything.
Everyone in their circle envied them.
But only Wen He knew the truth.
He was unwilling even to share a bed with her.

When a longtime friend learned the truth,
they invited Wen He out under the pretext of celebrating a birthday.
The disco ball flashed in the bar, neon lights blending together.
Wen He huddled awkwardly in a corner.
She kept waving off the heavily made-up young man in front of her.
The spotlight dazzled her.
When she turned, she met a familiar gaze.
The man lounged on the sofa.
His usually immaculate tie was loosened carelessly, and his dark blue suit jacket rested over his forearm.
Smoke curled upward, lending him a touch of dejection.
Wen He saw him lean down and murmur a few words to the assistant beside him.
Then the assistant walked toward her.
Wen He clutched the hem of her skirt.
But the assistant only chased off the young man who had been doggedly pursuing her.
Then he did nothing more.

Wen He knew she was in the wrong.
She followed behind Lu You in silence, head lowered.
After drinking some hangover soup, Lu You rubbed his aching temples.
Then he sighed softly and said in a low voice,
“I know what fruit you like, what flowers you prefer, what books you enjoy, and what sports you like...”
Wen He stiffened.
The man gently circled her waist and buried his face in the crook of her neck.
“But could you please know...”
“That you are my wife.”
He placed particular emphasis on the word “my.”
