Yu Qing came to the Ji family with her mother.
That night, thunder rumbled outside. A boy stood upstairs, one forearm resting casually on the railing. His long, narrow phoenix eyes narrowed as he let out a scoff.
"So she's a little blind girl."
Yu Qing heard him all at once and flinched backward.
Ji's father immediately scolded him for his lack of manners and told him to call her his younger sister.
With his hands in his pockets, Ji Yu came downstairs, dragging out his words lazily as he called her "little sis" in a completely unserious tone.
Then he took her by the arm and led her upstairs to have a look around.
The dim yellow lights came on. Ji Yu shoved her against the edge of the table.
"You have one month to get out of my house with your mother."

Yu Qing had no choice but to keep as far away from Ji Yu as she could.
But Ji's father insisted that they attend the same prestigious high school.
In the days before school started, Yu Qing was consumed by a deep sense of dread.
She feared the new environment, and she feared even more that Ji Yu would make things difficult for her.
What she hadn't expected was that Ji Yu seemed like a different person. He brought her water and meals, and explained problems to her.
Yu Qing thought everything was getting better.
But beneath the green trees not far away, Ji Yu watched the girl smile, dimples appearing, as she tugged on the arm of the person in front of her.
He let out a soft "Tsk" and furrowed his brow.

Yu Qing thought their relationship had improved somewhat.
So she took the fruit plate from the auntie.
She pushed open the bedroom door and quietly asked
if he could explain the math problem from class again.
Ji Yu casually tossed the pencil in his hand onto the desk, leaned back in his chair, and looked up at her.
"Agree to one condition, and I'll explain it."
Yu Qing clenched the hem of her clothes. That familiar feeling of oppression washed over her, and she turned to run.
The boy grabbed her wrist. In an instant, the world spun.
Yu Qing fell into his arms, held tightly in place by his large hands.
"You've called so many people 'big brother.' It's about time my turn came, isn't it?"
