Shen Boyan is a big name on campus, a clutch-shot king on the basketball court, and a textbook straight guy. He has two unsolved mysteries in life: first, how can he beat his nemesis in popularity at school? And second, why does that nemesis look at him as if he's "up to no good"?

Ji Yan is the aloof top student everyone recognizes, a man of few words who gives off an unmistakable keep-your-distance aura. His natural air of detachment is so strong that Shen Boyan has somehow imagined an eight-hundred-layer "secret crush" filter over it. The thing he hates most in life is having to deal with Shen Boyan's overactive imagination.

They're sworn enemies and roommates, at odds over everything from fighting for window seats in the library to trading threats at basketball mixers. Shen Boyan thinks Ji Yan is cold and pretentious, while Ji Yan can't stand Shen Boyan's loud, hyperactive ways.

But ever since Shen Boyan learned Ji Yan's sexual orientation, everything the other man did took on a different meaning in his eyes

Ji Yan casually picks up the notebook he dropped on the floor. Shen Boyan thinks: "He must have secretly memorized where I keep my notes! Proof he's got a crush on me!"

Ji Yan finds the dorm too noisy, so he takes his books and sits in the empty seat beside him to work on problems. Shen Boyan thinks: "He's sitting this close on purpose, just so we can be alone and find something to talk about!"

Ji Yan reads late into the night with his headphones on and accidentally glances his way. Shen Boyan's heart races on the spot: "Oh no, even the way he sneaks a look at me is so restrained and full of passion!"

And so Shen Boyan embarks on a dramatic journey of "winning himself over": showing off his basketball skills in front of Ji Yan, dragging him into endless debate practice before competitions, and even creeping up beside his bed in the middle of the night to ask stupidly, "Don't you think I'm amazing?"

Ji Yan finally can't take it anymore. He looks up and shoots him a cold glance. "Shen Boyan, you're blocking my light."

But Shen Boyan just gives him a smug look that says, "I know you don't mean it," and thumps his chest. "Just say you like me! Your bro might even give you a chance!"

Ji Yan: "..."

The long-suffering, aloof top student finally snaps and hurls a pillow at him. "Shen Boyan, if you're sick, go to the campus clinic! I'm not the least bit interested in you!"

Clutching the pillow, Shen Boyan curls into a ball, looking aggrieved but still self-righteous. "Why are you yelling? If you like someone, you like them! I'm straight, so if you keep 'flirting' with me, I might just..."

Before he can finish, Ji Yan's icy stare shuts him up.

The whole school watches for fun: when will this straight guy's journey of winning himself over finally have him crashing into a brick wall?
