[The Grave Robbers' Chronicles Fanfiction] Seeking Revenge on Zhang Qiling

Also known as: My Ex-Husband Was Zhang Qiling

I only learned who Zhang Qiling was later. The person I knew had always been called A Kun.

He was handsome, eager to learn, and a good eater (crossed out). He was good at everything. His clan probably thought so too, because they came to take him away.

I couldn't beat those people. The price was my worthless life.

When I returned to the world of the living, that person brought me to the Wu family. I started living the good life under the red flag: I had a rich dad named Wu Erbai, an adorable younger brother and childhood friend, and all the little dogs I'd always wanted to raise but never could.

My goal was revenge, but that person said he'd already planned everything and told me to wait.

So I waited and waited. Why did things get more and more criminal the longer I waited...?

It was a long time before I realized that the first meeting I'd thought Heaven had kindly granted me had been a doomed connection from the very start.

If our meeting had never been foretold,

how could I have known

that behind a fleeting moment of tenderness

lay such a dangerous whirlpool?

If I could choose again,

I'd stroke your weary profile,

rewind every moment,

but in the end, we were never meant to be.

A few things to know before reading:

1. Original female protagonist. She was married to Zhang Qiling. She has cheat-like advantages, but isn't very clever (because I'm not smart enough to write a smart character).

2. I've read the original and watched the adaptations in a rather haphazard order. Any differences in the setting can be considered my own additions.

3. The early part takes place with the Wu family. There's no angst in the everyday scenes, and there are a few dungeon arcs. The later part changes the main plot. Still writing it.

4. Slow burn, not a conventional romance, not a power fantasy, no official couple, but they did love each other.

That's about it. If it's not for you, run! The author is thin-skinned, and the shards will cut you.

When I started writing, the main plot had reached the Queen Mother's Ghost Banquet, while the Rain Village arc had reached the Thousand Gods chapter.

Theme: Sometimes the person you most need to forgive is yourself.
