The war between the Government of Time and the Time-Traveling Army had dragged on for years. Like every war in human history, this one also saw participants leave the battlefield.
"After this incident, I have concluded that I am not fit to serve as a Saniwa. I respectfully request approval to resign."
After an accident, despite repeated attempts to persuade him to stay, the Saniwa of a certain citadel resigned from his post.
Today is seven years after that day.
The citadel, once bustling, now stood nearly empty. With so little care, even the fields had grown lush with grass.
Creak.
From the direction of the main gate came the sound of a door opening.
The blond starter sword, who had decided to stay no matter what because of their long-standing bond, looked toward the sound.
A young man stood there.
"..."
"Long time no see, Yamanbagiri."
The young man, the returning Saniwa "Nishie," said.
His black hair was neatly combed, and his bearing was composed. Whether walking or standing, he no longer seemed at all impatient.
This is a tale that was once interrupted, but still carried on.
This is a story of growth, responsibility, and trust.
Please note:
A single-sword Touken Ranbu story. I'm not a professional writer. The premise is "What happened to those abandoned accounts that never logged back in?" It sounds a little odd on its own, but this really is a sweet story with no angst.
The main focus is on platonic relationships. There are no romantic pairings centered on the Saniwa, but the story depicts several relationships between Saniwa and swords that are at least as close as friends. This is a healing (maybe?) story that blends ex-lover literature with white-moonlight literature, about a retired Saniwa returning to the game and picking up swords everywhere (figuratively).
Two details that may be controversial: First, some swords may have a second version whose personality differs because they were summoned under different circumstances, and some swords will refuse to return to the citadel. Second, seven years ago, the protagonist was immature in word and deed, impulsive, reckless, and focused on his own goals. The accident, however, was not truly an irreparable tragedy. He is not a perfect protagonist, and the story will not excuse his actions. Also, he may not be as smart or emotionally perceptive as most of the swords (glances aside). It's a bit much to expect an ordinary human in his twenties to outmaneuver beings who are hundreds of years old, so please adjust your expectations accordingly for a more enjoyable reading experience.
Theme: Taking responsibility for the past is a quality adults should have.
Is this considered abandonment on purpose? I think it's more like a company that went bankrupt due to poor management by the boss, and the original employees ran away to find new jobs. Later, the boss came back with funds, and even tried to contact his former colleagues but was rejected. It's more like a two-way choice where you come and I go. Obviously Bi Qie can choose to stay, but he can't blame everything on the boss.
No wonder Xijiang broke through the defense and left, and so did I. But there is a strange thing. Now that Xijiang Fengping has been killed, no one who left the sword before is willing to stand up and correct it. After all, it is very impressive to brush the book efficiently without breaking it. Could it be that Daojian also felt that Xijiang was exploiting them?
It tastes good, and the later battle with Ichime Hiashiri tastes even better (isn't this just a replica of Genpei's battle?
No one [scared] It's so beautiful
So, I almost thought that Mi-chan was a foreshadowing. Then did any of the original swordsmen have the same situation? Kneemaru discovered it so quickly, and he is worthy of being a treasure of Genji 😂
Do you think this generation of liver will be able to replace the generation of swords? (Hehe
It is normal for a sword to refuse to come back. Having said that I have left before, I really can't imagine how HE could be in this situation. In this case, usually if you leave, you won't come back. After all, a broken mirror cannot be reunited. [Eh~]
Fortunately, it's a memory! (Because the title is one year from now, I thought it was the future) My heart almost stopped beating when I saw the sentence "I don't understand that the prosperity of Honmaru will dissipate".
Good guy, what's the difference between the words "stars" and "the moonlight is so beautiful"? Confessed affectionately
Sometimes I feel that An Ding is like an awkward child. When he talks about self-persuasion or self-loathing, he is not only saying it to himself, but he is also saying it to his aunt. There is a feeling of "please (don't) forget me"
