If you had to name the most ridiculous thing in the world...

It would have to be the strange creature sprawled on Jiang Yue's sofa, its round belly puffing up and down as it panted, yet stubbornly refusing to blink as it insisted on pretending to be a teddy bear.

Jiang Yue silently poked its soft, fluffy belly. It gave a little whimper and puffed itself up, nudging her finger with its stomach.

"So, where's my bear?" she asked.

There was no reply.

It kept staring at her with its round black eyes, unblinking, though the round ears atop its head twitched guiltily.

Jiang Yue folded her arms and drawled, "That's strange. I remember my teddy bear could talk. How did it turn into a mute?"

It froze for a moment, then instantly grew so anxious that its short snout trembled. It mumbled in a muffled voice, "I am your teddy bear! I'm fluffy and soft, and I can talk."

Jiang Yue's understanding of the world had been thoroughly shaken.

This is a bear.

Bears can talk.

They can speak human language.

Her gaze hesitantly swept across the living room, finally landing on the little corner of a plush toy sticking out from beneath the sofa.

Clearly, the poor thing shoved under the sofa was her teddy bear.

The real stuffed bear her friend had given her.

It couldn't talk or move, much less lie to her with a quivering snout.
