Mad Siblings, Toppling a Dynasty

Sheng Qingyao and Sheng Qingyue were fraternal twins who loved to fight each other. By accident, they transmigrated into a marquis's household as an ill-favored brother and sister doomed to be cannon fodder.

The cannon-fodder brother had an impeccable memory and was born to be a literary star, yet his stepmother cut off his path to the imperial examinations, and he died miserably in a pleasure house.

The cannon-fodder sister was breathtakingly beautiful and betrothed to the Crown Prince, yet her stepsister schemed against her, forcing her to marry an abusive man who beat her to death.

Sheng Qingyao and Sheng Qingyue: Hah. They'll make everyone else the cannon fodder!

The siblings put an end to their infighting and joined forces to climb the ranks. Their first sacrifice was the Marquis's household.

The Marquis was thrown into prison. The stepmother's family died one after another. The siblings emerged unscathed and even found new powerful allies!

Sheng Qingyao "accidentally" saved the emperor and became a princess of the realm. Sheng Qingyue passed the imperial examinations at the highest level and became a rising power at court.

The siblings could influence both the imperial court and the imperial harem.

Their second sacrifice was every prince.

Through provocation and excessive pampering, the Crown Prince was toppled. The princes turned against one another, and they died one after another. As the ones pulling the strings, the siblings remained entirely blameless and reaped enormous rewards.

Sheng Qingyao took control of the realm's economic lifelines. Sheng Qingyue became the highest-ranking official in the land.

Their third sacrifice was the rest of the imperial family.

The emperor and empress lost their beloved son and turned to hatred for each other, until they finally died together. The imperial relatives fought over power and the throne, dying one after another. Just then, foreign forces invaded, and the siblings were entrusted with the realm's fate in its hour of peril.

Sheng Qingyao held down the court and ushered in a golden age. Sheng Qingyue traveled to the frontier and expanded the realm's borders.

The history books called the siblings "The Sun and Moon of the Great Sheng."
