Synopsis

The military governors of the Three Towns raised troops. Their forces crossed San Pass and headed straight for the capital. The Son of Heaven fled Chang'an with his closest princes and ministers, abandoning the city as the prosperous age collapsed.

The military governors grew powerful.

In the first year, Jin Sheng, military governor of Heyang and nominally a vassal of the emperor, asked the court to make his wife Yan Hanzhang the Lady of Qin.

The court: Sure.

Not long after, Chu Xingrang, military governor of Luyang and loyal to the emperor, asked the court to make his wife Yan Hanzhang the Lady of Jin.

The court: Sure... Wait, what?

(I'm still saving up chapters. Expected to start in January 2027.)
