Xie Wen wrote a novel, but after nine attempts, she still couldn't land a contract. Her poor writing went unnoticed, and in the end, she buried that world.
So be it. It wasn't real anyway.
When she fell into a deep sleep in front of her computer screen, when an electronic voice called the System rang out in her mind, her world became real.
She asked herself: How could you let such a magnificent world meet its end at your hands?
It was a [fantasy novel where women held power and men were subservient].
This was a world of noblewomen, where only a small number of women and female beings could awaken heavenly power, a supernatural ability.
This was a world where humans and demons coexisted. The imperial court had established the Demon-Hunting Bureau to protect the people.
The protagonist of Xie Wen's novel was the Bureau's second-in-command, a gifted young commander. The supporting characters were the commander's subordinate, a black-clad agent, and a wandering martial artist they met while investigating a case.
Her protagonist, the commander, slew evil demons with a single sword stroke.
Her supporting characters: the martial artist coaxed the truth from evildoers with a single remark, while the black-clad agent sent the wicked to their deaths with a single blade of wind.
They were free, powerful, and vividly alive.
This was a world of noblewomen, where the weight of family, country, and all under heaven rested in their arms.
One sword stroke to bring peace, ten thousand sword strokes to do the same: cut down all evil and preserve peace.
Xie Wen had no choice but to protect this world.
She was its creator, and its savior.
The System placed Xie Wen at the beginning of the story.
The System told Xie Wen that each day she could randomly draw one kind of heavenly power, along with a random duration for which she could use it.
She had to join the protagonist's group and stop the righteous and the villains from destroying each other, and stop the world from ending.
And so their journey began.
