After Going from Hated to Adored, I Regretted It

[1v1, seme split into fragments, haven't settled on which name to use, so it's being kept secret for now.]

Ying Yue had never been liked by others.

He was ordinary-looking, had average talent, and was gloomy and insecure. Yet somehow, he used his status to become engaged to He Lanxin, daughter of the He family head.

Because of this, no one in the He family liked Ying Yue except its head.

His fiancee, He Lanxin, didn't like him either. She often told Ying Yue in private that one day she would end their engagement.

Even the only friend Ying Yue had ever made turned on him after Ying Yue brought him into the He family, saying he had only approached Ying Yue for the He family's sake.

No one liked Ying Yue except his mother, and she was dying too.

His mother's life was nearing its end, and she had little time left. Ying Yue wept beside her bed. As his mother watched in anguish, he plunged a dagger into his own heart, hoping to follow her in death.

But the next day, Ying Yue discovered that not only had he survived, he had also become an unparalleled beauty, with skin like ice and bones like jade, radiantly sensual.

From that day on, Ying Yue suddenly noticed that everyone around him had begun treating him kindly.

His fiancee, who had previously been cold and dismissive, began planning to marry him as soon as possible.

The He family's retainers, who had previously glared at him, began finding all kinds of excuses to chat with him.

His fiancee's older brother, who had previously treated him as invisible, began turning his gaze toward him.

Even the various prodigies of heaven, whom Ying Yue had only ever heard about in rumors, began declaring their love for him.

At first, Ying Yue was delighted by these changes. But as more and more love was directed his way, he gradually grew afraid.

That ceaseless flood of love was all but drowning him...

Much later, the thing Ying Yue regretted most was his answer when his mother once asked him what he wanted:

Love!
