[Faking amnesia, scheming for real | Raising a tiger as a wife | Cold-faced cutie vs. fake innocent schemer | True feelings x false intentions]
[Sweet-tongued, snake-hearted chief judge x play the pig to eat the tiger pollution entity]
[One-on-one, both virgins, happy ending, steamy and sweet, no angst]
Lin Jin first met Lu Chengyan on the execution grounds of the tribunal.
He sat on the throne atop the high platform, his long, distinct knuckles resting lightly against his chin as he casually issued a death sentence for a pollution entity.
They met again five years later.
The interstellar pirates she considered her lifesavers had all been arrested by him. To get revenge, she dragged her shackles toward him, her clothes in tatters.
But he merely lowered his gun, bent down, and unlocked the restraints on her ankles with his own hands.

Everyone in the Allied Stars knew that the tribunal's supreme ruler was a top-tier killer, sweet-tongued but snake-hearted, with a blade hidden behind every smile.
But no one expected this.
The decisive, impeccably mannered Chief Judge Lu Chengyan returned from an arrest operation with a little shadow he could not shake, following him everywhere he went.
Lin Jin harbored a blood feud, hid her sharp edges, and pretended to have amnesia.
She became the caged bird he kept in the tribunal.
She had seen him sit in the tribunal, cold-eyed and ruthless as he judged people to live or die. Yet she alone received the tender kindness with which he would bring her warm porridge late at night, draping his coat over her shoulders.
Caught in the tangled feelings of love and hate, she nearly drowned in them.
At last, the day of judgment arrived.
She secretly passed along information, coordinated from within and without to rescue all the pirates, and stole his personal seal to clear the fleet's way as it defected.
She had repaid the so-called benefactors, but betrayed Lu Chengyan alone.
But the moment she boarded the starship, the truth pierced her delusions like an icicle.
These interstellar pirates were the real culprits behind her family's destruction.
And the person who had rescued her from the ruins years ago, warming her near-dead body with his own...
Was Lu Chengyan.
From beginning to end, she had repaid the wrong person and hated the wrong person.
Cold pollution-source drugs were injected into her veins once more. In the final moment before her consciousness crumbled, a familiar figure burst through the cabin door.
She fell once again into that warm, familiar embrace, hearing his helpless sigh beside her ear.
"How many times do I have to save you before you'll remember me forever?"
[Bonus Scenes]
❶
The light in the treatment pod was impossibly soft. Lin Jin lifted a hand and gently brushed Lu Chengyan's reddened eyes.
He had watched over her for three days, yet still clutched her hand without letting go. His voice was painfully hoarse. "Are you going to run again?"
"Never again."
Lin Jin buried her face in the crook of his neck, enveloped at once by the familiar, cool sandalwood scent.
He chuckled softly and tightened his arms around her, resting his chin on her head before giving her a gentle kiss, both helpless and indulgent. "If you run again, I'll keep you tied to my side."
❷
As their breathing grew unsteady, Lin Jin pulled away from his embrace, rested her chin on his shoulder, and gently bit his earlobe in silent protest.
"Chief Judge Lu, is this how you pass judgment on criminals?"
Lu Chengyan held the back of her head with one hand, stroked her long hair, then gathered it up. His voice was low and deep.
"A special sentence, just for you."
[Reading Notes]
1. Romance 80%, plot 20%.
2. Sci-fi setting, part of a series. The setting is quite freewheeling, but it all holds together.
3. The writing goes all over the place, sometimes good and sometimes bad. If you can't keep reading, don't give me advice. I'll just cry alone in the middle of the night.
