The Emperor's Favor [Planned for 2027]

General Wen died in battle. With his dying breath, he entrusted Wen Li, the only granddaughter he cherished, to the emperor.

Wen Li's mother had died young, and her father had remarried. One can only imagine how hard life must have been for a little girl who had just lost her grandfather.

It was only a matter of raising a little girl in the palace, so the emperor readily agreed and gave her the title of Prince Anle.

When Wen Li grew up, she was bright-eyed, lovely, and well-behaved. She was simply far too fond of clinging to the emperor.

When she went to kiss his chin as usual, for the first time he sternly scolded her.

"A Li, no more fooling around. You're a grown woman now, of marriageable age."

Wen Li pouted and complained unhappily.

"Your Majesty gets harder to talk to the older you get. Then A Li won't grow up."

The emperor was both exasperated and amused by her childish remark. Then, distracted by his thoughts, he wondered if he really was getting old.

Later, the emperor held Wen Li on his lap and kissed her. The young woman blushed and accused him, "Who was it that said I was too young?"

The emperor pretended not to hear and chuckled. "Who would dare say my A Li is too young? I'll have them punished this very moment."

He squeezed her and said in a hoarse voice, "A Li isn't young at all. That's all thanks to me."

Wen Li scoffed inwardly, then smiled sweetly, deliberately teasing the emperor. "Then Your Majesty can sleep alone tonight. A Li is going to punish you."

The emperor had brought this upon himself, and for a moment he fell silent.
