[An innocent, adorable little carrot baby x a scheming, lovesick mastermind]
Ji Luo was the juiciest carrot in his grandfather's garden. After transforming into a human, he stayed by his grandfather's side for several years.
To ease his grandfather's longing for his grandson, Ji Luo packed a little schoolbag full of local specialties and set off for the city, wide-eyed and unsure of himself.
After traveling for many days, he finally stopped at the entrance to a dorm at Jiang University, clutching a photograph.
He hesitated for a long time before working up the courage to knock softly.
The person who opened the door wore a black T-shirt. His features were cool and detached, nothing like the person in the photo. “Who are you looking for?”
Ji Luo stared up at him for a long time before realizing he had the wrong person. Panicking, he nearly failed to hide the leaves on his head. He held out the photograph and said timidly, “...My big brother.”
The other person glanced at the photo, raised an eyebrow, and stepped aside to let him into the dorm.
But when the big brother in the photo came back, he only glanced at Ji Luo before scoffing. “A country bumpkin who reeks of carrots.”
Then he threw Ji Luo and the bag of potatoes and cabbages out the door.
Huddled beside a flower bed, Ji Luo's tender sprouts drooped with hurt.
So city people didn't like the fresh scent of soil.
Suddenly, a shadow fell over him.
The cool-faced young man who had opened the door earlier stopped in front of him.
Ji Luo stared up at him in a daze. The other boy bent down and picked up the heavy bag of local specialties. “Get up.”
His voice was still as cold as ever, but he held out a hand.
“If that big brother of yours doesn't want you, then stop calling him that.”
“Call me your big brother.”
-
Later, Ji Luo gradually realized that his new big brother wasn't quite like the person everyone described.
People said Lu Chengyu was aloof and arrogant, and that a single word from him could poison you.
Ji Luo watched a fluffy head rub against his neck, over and over, savoring the fresh carrot scent. The leaves on his head curled into a question mark.
People said Lu Chengyu had severe germophobia and washed his hands three times with disinfectant if he so much as touched someone else's belongings.
Ji Luo watched him crouch down to clean his shoes. The leaves on his head swayed back and forth.
People said Lu Chengyu kept to himself and hated trouble and being dragged down by others.
Ji Luo watched him patiently teach him to write. Holding Ji Luo's hand, he carefully wrote the three characters of his name: Lu Chengyu.
And Lu Chengyu even went back to visit Grandpa with him.
A little yellow plush rabbit with carrot embroidery had even found its way into the corner of Lu Chengyu's wardrobe, which had always held nothing but black, white, and gray clothes.
Ji Luo checked the bathroom scale and learned he had gained six pounds in a month. Then he looked over at Lu Chengyu, busy in the kitchen.
The big city was terrifying. Humans had two completely different faces.
But people did get one thing right.
Lu Chengyu was extremely possessive.
Whenever Ji Luo talked to someone else, Lu Chengyu would pull him away with a sour look. At night, he would pin him down and ask in a dangerous tone, “Baby, just how many big brothers do you have?”
The leaves on Ji Luo's head shrank back. He whispered, “You. You're the only one, big brother.”
-
Later still, Lu Chengyu looked at the little carrot crouched in a flowerpot, absorbed in photosynthesis, and pinched the tip of a leaf poking out. “Your variety seems pretty suitable for a quick stir-fry.”
Ji Luo shuddered with fright, and the leaves on his head drooped. “I-I'm not tasty...”
Lu Chengyu pulled him out of the soil. Once Ji Luo had transformed, he wiped the dirt from his cheek and drawled, unhurriedly:
“Are you saying you're not tasty, or that you don't want Big Brother to eat you?”
[Reading Guide]
* Both are virgins.
* A sweet little confection. Don't expect logic; it's all about having fun. No need to tell me if you drop it.
* Friends and many readers have pointed out that carrots and radishes aren't the same thing. I'm sorry: I don't know much about everyday things, and thought carrots, white radishes, and red radishes could all be called radishes. The story is already complete, so I can't revise it. I'm truly sorry if I misled anyone.
* The central premise is dated December 11, 2025. Inspiration came from a chat log.
[Preview of an upcoming novel]
[A sun-loving lop-eared rabbit who gets thoroughly sunbaked x a cold CEO]
Mai Yunyun was a milk-coffee-colored lop-eared rabbit, born in a cozy farming game. His daily routine was sunbathing, eating rabbit pellets, and observing the new human who had arrived.
The human spent money to buy him premium rabbit food, played little interactive games with him, and gave him lots of pretty wildflowers.
Little by little, the affection meter above Mai Yunyun's head filled up. He followed the human back to the cottage, and his quest changed to helping with the harvest.
But the shameless human got bold and touched his back, leaving Mai Yunyun with a litter of baby bunnies.
Worse, the human disappeared and never came back.
To find the man who had abandoned him after seducing him, Mai Yunyun sold the farm and spent years saving up enough money to trade with the System for a chance to leave.
But life among humans was nothing like the farm. Mai Yunyun became a stray rabbit and was caught.
They tied an ugly bow around him, sprayed him with cheap perfume, and kept him in a cramped, climate-controlled cage all day.
The day before he was due to be neutered, he did his best to charm a young man and was finally taken home.
That night, in a four-hundred-square-meter mansion, the young man carried a cage made of pure gold to a man and said, “Happy birthday, Uncle! I got you a show-quality lop-eared rabbit!”
Mai Yunyun, wearing little wings around his waist, sneered. Show-quality? I'm a rabbit the shady breeder picked out of a dumpster!
He looked up in disdain, only to see a face he knew all too well.
Mai Yunyun froze, then slammed into the cage. He gurgled in his throat, his ears almost standing straight up. “...!”
Heartless scoundrel!!!

Li Jinnian received a lop-eared rabbit from his nephew. The rabbit was adorable, but its temper was unbelievably awful.
He fed it premium royal-grade rabbit food, but it shoved the bowl away without even looking. After a few more tries, it picked up the bowl in its teeth and smashed it to pieces.
While he worked, the rabbit would pace around his hand but wouldn't let him pet it. Try, and it would suddenly bite him.
Worse still, the rabbit would sneak onto his bed in the middle of the night and curl up beside him. When he caught it, it would kick him away with all its might.
The rabbit was adorable, but he couldn't take much more of its antics, so from then on he kept their relationship as owner and pet at arm's length.
Then the rabbit got sick, and the doctor diagnosed a false pregnancy.
Li Jinnian was confused. He had checked the facts and hadn't touched the rabbit's back without thinking.
That night, he had a bizarre dream.
In it, a young man with rabbit ears slapped him across the face. “You got me pregnant, and now you expect me to get an abortion?!”
Li Jinnian: ...?

Later, everyone saw the busy, unsmiling CEO of Prema Technology carrying a tiny lop-eared rabbit to work.
He never put it down: he carried it in the car, carried it into meetings, and even kept it with him at the celebratory banquet.
People also spotted a handsome young man with milk-coffee-colored hair frequently visiting the CEO's office.
Everyone speculated about the young man's background.
Then Li Jinnian submitted his vacation request and flew to Northern Europe.
Not long afterward, he posted a wedding photo on social media: Me and my bunny.
In the photo, the young man stood smiling by his side, and each of them held a coffee-colored lop-eared rabbit.

Back in high school, Li Jinnian had made a farming game. The pixel character was modeled after his own face.
He had also written a string of code for a wild lop-eared rabbit that players could interact with, adopt as a pet, and put to work helping with the harvest.
Unfortunately, before closed testing began, he had to return to China for personal reasons, and the crude code he'd written as a teenager was forgotten.
He never expected that the lop-eared rabbit who had kept him company in his rental apartment would go through so much hardship,
crossing dimensions just to see him again.
