The Mask

"My sister's eyes are injured. I want so badly to dig out my own eyeballs and put them in her sockets, but the doctor says I can't do that."

"That detestable man came again, holding her hand with his filthy hands. Disgusting."

"He hasn't come for two weeks. Wonderful. My sister finally belongs to me alone."

"The first day I pretended to be that man, I felt filthy and didn't dare touch my sister."

"My sister didn't recognize me in disguise. I was so excited I trembled."

"My sister's feet are so fair. I love them."

From Zhou Yiran's diary

At twenty-one, Lin Xueyao experienced two major events.

First, her childhood sweetheart, who had always loved her, broke up with her.

Second, that very night, her eyesight miraculously returned.

Zhou Yiran knew nothing about any of it.

Not until the day he came to stand before her.

This voice actor, who became an instant sensation after debuting with his exceptionally youthful, charismatic voice, imitated her childhood sweetheart's voice and called her by her nickname: "Sansan."

That night, he knelt beside her bed and tremulously, reverently kissed her ankle.

Lin Xueyao, whose sight had returned, did not expose Zhou Yiran's disguise.

She was simply curious how long this little stray dog, who had followed her since childhood, could keep holding back while kneeling beside her bed every night.
