Withdrawal

Lin Duanye was born with a handsome, rakish face into the family of the richest man in the country. As the family's only son, he was adored by everyone and got whatever he wanted.

Xingzhi was the daughter of his family's housekeeper. She followed him around like a little sidekick, always obedient and ready whenever he called.

He was annoyed by her.

Annoyed that she braved 38-degree heat to cross half the city and bring him cold drinks.

Annoyed by the tender way she looked at him, as if he were her whole world.

Most of all, he was annoyed by the way she would do anything to climb into his bed and become his girlfriend.

"I'm never going to want you. Stop dreaming." Lin Duanye casually tossed the drink she'd given him into the trash.

She seemed incapable of being hurt. The next day, she smiled at him as usual.

On the night they graduated at eighteen, Lin Duanye got drunk. She was there, too, and he couldn't hold back.

After that, every night, he couldn't stop himself from pushing open her bedroom door.

Everyone said Xingzhi had finally made it, and was about to become his official girlfriend.

But before that summer was over, she broke up with him.

Lin Duanye had never begged anyone in his life. That rainy night, he stood beneath her apartment building, soaking in the rain until dawn, his eyes red.

Then he watched helplessly as she rose onto her toes and kissed another man beneath the eaves.

A man... who looked exactly like him.

His twin brother, Lin Luqi, who had been "dead" for years.
