Wild Mountain, Starry River

Yuan Wu, an emergency-room doctor, is hounded and harassed by online trolls. She never considered taking her own life, but she did feel that living was rather pointless.

But in Chashan Village, she met Lin Yan.

He cooked for her, brought her mosquito coils, took her cherry-picking, took her net fishing, took her to collect duck eggs by the riverbank, and took her to see the sky full of stars and fireflies lining the banks.

In the end, he took her heart, too.

When life returned to normal and they were separated by distance, Yuan Wu painfully ended things with him all at once. But on a winter night when she was falling apart, she drove hundreds of miles through mountains upon mountains and arrived downstairs at his place.

Lin Yan wrapped her in a blanket and brought her into his room.

She knew that he was the only one in this world who could save her.
