I'll bump this up and start it after The High God is finished. I'm especially drawn to this story, and the leads make a really compelling pair. I'm practicing writing romance and character dynamics. I'll start once I've finished drafting the whole thing, hopefully next summer.
[An exiled princess's road to revenge, exiled princess x powerful minister of an enemy state]
Spring, Year 21 of Qianyuan, the capital of Chen.
Two mysterious guests arrived at the residence of Liu Cang, the prince of a different surname.
One was Zhao Linyun, a princess of Zhao who had been in exile for eleven years.
This princess was truly extraordinary. Not only had she escaped the reigning Zhao emperor's massacre eleven years ago, she'd also built up a formidable force, ready to return to Zhao and seize the throne. Her chances of success might be slim, but what if she really pulled it off? Liu Cang was a worldly man, and naturally wouldn't pass up the chance to offer help in someone's hour of need.
The other was Cui Xun, head of the Cui clan, one of Chu's great families. It was he who had personally placed Chu's young emperor on the throne.
Young as he was, this Cui clansman wielded immense power. He was clearly ruthless. They said he was also a devoted lover. Half a year ago, his beloved wife died in a great fire, and he had rushed into the flames without regard for his own life, just to bring back her charred remains.
The two honored guests were meeting for the first time, yet for some reason, neither seemed to like the other. Each was colder than the last. Liu Cang had no choice but to end the banquet early. To make amends, after the feast he sent three handsome young men to the princess of Zhao, then sent three beautiful dancers to the waterside pavilion where Cui Xun was staying.
That night, Cui Xun, who had been a "widower" for half a year, learned that his "deceased wife" had not sent back the three alluring young men. He crushed the jade pendant at his waist in his hand.

During their three years of marriage, Cui Xun had always treated Zhao Linyun well. He gave her all the respect and affection a husband could give his wife. So when Zhao Linyun pressed a dagger to his throat, she never truly intended to take his life.
Cui Xun let the blade cut his skin, then leaned to her ear and chuckled. "Whether you're Zhao Linyun, princess of Zhao, or Lin Yun, the daughter of a minor Chu official, my wife has always been you and will only ever be you. Your husband will only ever be me. Any man who gets close to you, touch one and I'll kill one."
Reader's guide:
A sweet romance and a serious historical drama, with no noticeable groveling arc and no sparks flying. The leads are instinctively obsessed with each other, but each has their own schemes, with the heroine doing most of the scheming against the hero.
It's so hard to get people to follow your upcoming books. If you like historical romance, please add this to your collection, everyone. Love you =3=
