Hong Kong Tycoon: Being a Power Player in Entertainment Is So Much Fun

Chang Ying, a former Miss Hong Kong, was known as the Queen of Flops. She spent years in show business without ever becoming popular. After years of noisy ridicule, she disappeared from the scene, presumably retiring.

Years later, several young actresses who had competed alongside Chang Ying in the Miss Hong Kong pageant had made acclaimed works and become household names. Some had married into wealthy families, making public appearances with their husbands and wearing enormous diamond rings.

At a luxury brand's gala, familiar faces chatted and laughed. They brought up how the once-glamorous Miss Hong Kong winner had become an obscure has-been after leaving show business, and wondered where she was now. Life was full of twists.

Suddenly, the bigwigs stood up to greet a VIP who had just arrived. The young actress hurriedly rose, hand to her chest, put on a smile, and followed the crowd, hoping to make a good impression.

The woman came out without makeup, dressed simply in a knit sweater and trousers. She amiably shook their hands.

The stars from the mainland froze, dumbfounded.

Chang Ying paused and looked at the person in front of her, then smiled warmly. "I feel like I've seen you before?"

"Welcome to the launch gala for the brand I've acquired."

The group stared at her in disbelief, then looked beside her. There wasn't a single old-money man.

She hadn't married into a wealthy family.

She wasn't young and glamorous, dressed like a rich man's wife, or meticulously preserving herself to look twenty-eight. At thirty-five, she lived at ease, held out a dry, warm hand, and said,

"Welcome. You're here to witness a new beginning in my life."

Though I don't remember you.

After binding to the Tycoon System, Chang Ying stopped appearing in public.

She had built her career in the cultural industry, so she invested her money in the field she knew best. It's good to have something in life that you can throw yourself into.

With no worries holding you back, it's easier to look ahead.

*A story about the entrepreneurial journey of an ordinary middle-aged woman after she gets a Tycoon System.

I want to write about a woman who makes different choices from young people after a lucky opportunity comes her way.

Not fast-paced, but satisfying.

Theme: Trees grow in their own time, sway when the wind comes, and thrive when it rains.
