Invincible, pain-shy little prince who flirts without realizing it x cold-faced prime minister who dotes on his wife
“Everyone’s favorite” story
*
Xie Xing transmigrates into the book as its most spoiled and overbearing little prince.
The System forbids him from breaking character and orders him to act arrogantly and make everyone hate him.
In the end, he is married off to the prime minister, Shen Wenchao, and tormented to death, finally fulfilling his role and exiting the story.
Um... when does he get to fulfill his role? (ー`´ー)
In short, the hateful System wants him to raise hell and get written out as soon as possible.

Xie Xing diligently gets to work, then suddenly realizes that the people the book says hate him to the core are acting completely differently.
They don’t seem to hate him at all. In fact, they’re all incredibly attentive, and nothing about the plot matches what the System told him.
For example, the crown prince has recently been staying up late to study by lamplight.
In the middle of the night, Xie Xing sneaks into the crown prince’s chambers and ruins his homework. Before he can leave, the pitch-black room suddenly lights up.
Xie Xing nervously hides. In the book, the crown prince couldn’t even stand to look at him.
The crown prince says coldly, “Come out. I’ll spare your life.”
Xie Xing is dragged out, having already prepared his lines.
But the crown prince only wraps him in a fox-fur cloak and asks gently, “Mingzhu? Why are you in your big brother’s chambers at this hour? Couldn’t you sleep? Then let’s sleep together.”
As he lies in bed, Xie Xing thinks it over. Something doesn’t seem right. Who was the one who just got summoned by the King of Hell?
And there’s more.
The young lord of the Wuding Marquis’s family is Xie Xing’s study companion. Having learned from his encounter with the crown prince, Xie Xing takes him along to skip class and fish in the imperial gardens.
The young lord is usually a diligent student, but as he can’t disobey an imperial order, he has no choice but to go along with Xie Xing. Xie Xing is already waiting for him to give him a thorough dressing-down.
Instead, the young man smiles. “Mingzhu, you’re amazing! You caught such a big fish. Can you teach me?”
Xie Xing: That can’t be right!
Xie Xing decides to cross both of them off his KPI list.
At the spring banquet for the noble families, Xie Xing finally meets his rumored fiance, Shen Wenchao.
Everyone else avoids Shen Wenchao, but Xie Xing is delighted. He goes straight over and sits beside him, rudely asking Shen Wenchao to serve him food and pour his wine.
Everyone in court knows that Shen Wenchao hates him so much he can’t even stand being around him. Everyone waits for the smiling tiger to lose his temper, and Xie Xing is waiting, too.
But Shen Wenchao not only shows no resistance, he treats Xie Xing like his wife and even takes his slender wrist. “Mingzhu, let’s have a nuptial toast. There’s no harm in having one early.”
Xie Xing: ⊙ω⊙
Is something wrong with all of them? Is there a bug in this story?
*
Xie Xing works diligently for several years, but never gets written out.
Instead, several people keep sending invitations to his residence, only for Shen Wenchao to turn them all down one by one.
Xie Xing falls silent and looks at the rooms piled high with rare treasures. What does “universally disliked but everyone’s favorite” even mean?
(Extra scene)
A few days after the wedding, Xie Xing points at Shen Wenchao. “I, I hate you. I don’t want to marry you!”
“System, was that too harsh?”
“No. He’ll only be even more unreasonable with you.”
“Okay. Then I’ll sleep on the sofa.”
“No. You’re spoiled. You should make him sleep on the sofa.”
So Xie Xing shoves Shen Wenchao away with all his might. “Y-you! Get... out of here, (climbs out of bed) and sleep over there.” (Points at the sofa.)
Shen Wenchao is baffled. His wife is so cute. He wants to kiss him, wants to kiss him.
