[Football] A Giant Gorilla Goalkeeper Story

(I haven't figured out the blurb yet, since this might not come out until 2027. The World War II book probably won't be written after all, so I've magically transferred Bart's name here instead.)

Darren Bart is Australian, from Cairns in Queensland, and grew up in the rainforest and the ocean.

He's a huge Aussie gorilla who could swim back and forth across a 40-kilometer strait at the age of twelve.

His father couldn't stand watching him catch chickens, chase dogs, skip school, and go fishing all day. After discussing it with his mother, he gave Darren a good whack and sent him to Liverpool.

The gorilla had barely arrived in Liverpool when someone spotted him passing a local football pitch.

"Hey, big guy, can you play goalkeeper?"

Darren grinned. "No, but I can stop the other team from scoring."

And so the tall, blond kid, wearing ill-fitting casual clothes and old sneakers, with no one knowing where he'd come from, took his place in front of the goal.

He had no elegant diving technique. He relied entirely on terrifying reflexes and leaping ability, blocking seemingly unstoppable shots in the most unbelievable ways.

After one save, he charged so hard that he rolled across the muddy ground. When he got back up, he was grinning like a child, and casually threw the ball upfield to launch a counterattack.

By then, the Liverpool scout's notebook was already filled with exclamation marks and question marks about this "unorthodox" blond kid.

Basically, it's the story of an Australian wild-child prodigy who somehow ends up at Liverpool and wins a championship.

"He's practically Superman!"

"Uh, he's Superman, but he's also Australian Superman."

He's of mixed English and Australian heritage, and the protagonist pragmatically chooses to play for England's national team.

Since he's a goalkeeper, there's no need for a succession struggle among nine princes. (What am I even saying?)

He's a truly sunny optimist, which is a type I'm not very good at writing, so I'll take it slowly. Maybe this will just sit here until 2027. ()

The protagonist's only cheat is his physical prowess. That's it.

Moral: Human beings have their limits.
