I Insist on Rising to the Top

I, Hua Gu, was a maid in the Chancellor's residence, forced to ghostwrite for the Second Young Master. One poem shook the capital.

The day it came to light, I thought I was doomed. But Madam Shen, the second wife from a wealthy merchant family, smiled at me. She burned the evidence, adopted me as her goddaughter, and gave me the name Shen Zhiwei.

"I want to sit the imperial examinations."

"From now on, your life is mine, and so is your future."

Shen Zhiwei nervously guarded her secret identity, working herself to the bone on the path to the imperial examinations.

When she placed on the palace examination list, dressed in red with dark hair, she stood in the Golden Hall. Her identity was exposed, and the entire court was stunned!

Former classmate: I shared a room with a woman for three whole years?!

Former rival: I actually lost to a woman?!

"Deceiving the emperor is a crime punishable by the extermination of your entire clan."

I decided to confess to the emperor and bet on his appreciation of talent. And I won.

"Just when... did you start planning all this?"

The man leaned close and chuckled in her ear:

"From the first day you entered the academy disguised as a man."

"From the moment our eyes met in the teahouse."

He had planned every step, all to pave her way to success. What she thought were coincidences were all outcomes he had carefully arranged.

Theme: Even if the circumstances of your birth seem to set your destination, the wings of your thoughts can carry you beyond your shackles and into your own open sky.
