My Cat Gives Me Courage

Wang Siqi was ten years old. During the summer before she started middle school, her mother finally agreed to buy her a kitten, on the condition that she help out for a week at her aunt's pet shop.

At first, all she saw was how cute and soft the kittens were and how cheerful and lively the puppies were. She didn't know they all had different personalities, were prone to illness, or that some strays were beaten and abused by cruel people.

After a week of helping out, Wang Siqi understood the meaning of life, learned to respect and cherish every living being, and learned to take responsibility for raising one.
