Qin Yan was delivering a love letter for a friend when his errand-running business expanded into a new line of work: helping people pursue Jiang Shu.
One day he delivered a love letter for him, the next a gift for her. The wildest job came from a particularly generous, foolish client who had written thirty love letters and paid him a fortune to deliver one to Jiang Shu every day for a month.
His clients gave him the easiest work and paid him the most.

Jiang Shu refused every letter and gift he brought, until Qin Yan delivered a love letter from his mysterious client. Jiang Shu made an exception and accepted it, then began urging him every day to bring the next one.
Qin Yan suspected Jiang Shu and the mysterious client were secretly involved. One day, he finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to break them up.
When Jiang Shu once again asked why he hadn't brought the letter, Qin Yan lied without batting an eye. "My client said he's giving up."
After deceiving Jiang Shu, he turned around and messaged the client: "Jiang Shu says you should stop pursuing him."
Qin Yan didn't even want the money. He refunded the client the entire delivery fee. While transferring the money, he noticed that the client's WeChat name had "Shu" in parentheses at the end.
Qin Yan: "..." Jiang Shu had been messing with him using an alternate account!
Qin Yan looked at the love letters he still hadn't delivered and cautiously opened one, then a second, then a third... Every single one was a confession.
Those letters were written by Jiang Shu to Qin Yan. To Jiang Shu, Qin Yan wasn't delivering love letters for him, he was refusing them. As long as Qin Yan was still willing to deliver a love letter, that meant he didn't like him.
Jiang Shu first met Qin Yan on a day of torrential rain. He was soaked through and in a sorry state when Qin Yan brought him a cup of hot milk.
Years later, he saw him again on another stormy day. Jiang Shu was dressed in a suit, while Qin Yan wore a pilled sweatshirt and stood in the downpour, saying, "Jiang Shu, long time no see. You're having another bad day."
At first sight, Jiang Shu knew that Qin Yan hadn't been doing well.
Jiang Shu regretted it. He regretted not tying himself to Qin Yan.
