Immortal, Your Levothyroxine Has Gained Sentience!

This story is also known as "I Picked Up a Little Flower Sprite." It's one of the short stories in the "Picked Up" series, and a gift to myself as I fight cancer!

Le Youran, a venerable ancient immortal, descended to the mortal realm to undergo tribulation and ended up with thyroid cancer.

When he ascended back, his thyroid was gone, and the Heavenly Court didn't even have any Levothyroxine!

From then on, the irritable immortal began making annual trips to the mortal realm to stock up on medicine, and his celestial image fell apart.

One day, he casually rescued a little flower sprite who was being bullied.

The little thing hugged his leg with tears in its eyes. "Benefactor! Our kind has an ancestral rule: we must repay a life-saving favor by giving ourselves to our savior! Otherwise, I'll die!"

Le Youran: "???" Help! Can gratitude really be forced on someone?

Worried about being pestered by this clingy little repayment, the immortal fretted until he nearly went bald.

Until he discovered that the floral scent the little thing gave off was natural Levothyroxine!

The immortal had an idea: Wouldn't it be wonderful to keep him around as a portable medicine furnace?

When he pretended to accept, ready to begin his "medicine furnace" cultivation plan,

The little flower sprite scrubbed himself until he smelled lovely, then climbed into his bed with shining eyes...

"Immortal, I'm here to repay you!"

Le Youran looked at the little thing in his bed, whose eyes were clear and foolish, and fell into deep thought: Was he taking this "medicine" the wrong way?

An immortal focused entirely on curing his illness x a flower sprite focused entirely on repaying his kindness

Theme: Kindness deserves repayment
