After the Little One Binds to the Hegemony System [Apocalypse]

"When Heaven is about to bestow a great responsibility upon someone, it first makes them suffer, "

System 007, the Conquest System, hadn't even finished its opening line when it froze in disbelief.

", Wait, who are you?!"

Ming Le stood in the middle of the street, clutching a ragged cloth rabbit. He was so tiny that he didn't even reach an adult's calf. At the question, he replied with curious, bashful, cheerful politeness: "It's Lele!"

The System fell into an eerie silence. "…"

Ming Le tilted his little head. "What does 'conquer' mean?"

System: "It means being number one, the very strongest."

Ming Le's eyes lit up at once. "Like a super big hero?!"

System: "…More or less."

Ming Le clapped his chubby hands. "Okay! Then Lele wants to be a big hero!"

The apocalypse struck just then. Plants and animals mutated, and zombies and monsters roamed everywhere. 007 had no choice but to take the little tyke, only four and a half years old and abandoned in the street, on the road to "conquering the apocalypse."

Step one of the conquest: stay alive at all costs.

But they had barely gone a few steps when they found another kid on the road, nine and a half years old.

Step two of the conquest: claim a mountain, stake out some territory, and become its king.

Ming Le and his big brother, Zong Yinian, held hands as they struggled to survive together in the apocalypse.

From the hard work of scavenging supplies to stockpiling all kinds of provisions, from wandering everywhere covered in grime to finding a safe, stable home, Ming Le always stayed optimistic and positive about life. Before long, even Zong Yinian began to feel hopeful about the future. The two children never separated.

Step three of the conquest: build up the team, recruit followers, and "build a harem."

Zong Yinian squeezed Ming Le's soft palm. "I'm your follower, and I'm your harem, too."

Ming Le replied cheerfully, "Okay! Big Brother is the best. Lele will do whatever you say!"

System 007: "…"

In the apocalypse, social norms have collapsed and the rules no longer apply.

Natural and man-made disasters, survival of the fittest: simply staying alive is hard enough.

But holding fast to one's principles is the cornerstone of rebuilding civilization in the new world.

"True strength means having a set of principles that nothing can break."
