The Silly Top Finally Got Divorced

Gu Yan and I got divorced.

I imagined he'd panic, tear up the divorce papers, then cling to my leg and beg me through his tears not to leave.

After all, he was so poor that without me, he'd have to sleep on the street.

But he didn't.

He calmly signed the papers and asked if there was anything else I needed. He even thoughtfully called me a car.

He was acting. I was sure of it. Someone like him would never agree to a divorce so easily.

He was definitely playing hard to get.

So I hid the divorce papers and waited for him to drop the act and beg me to take him back. I deliberately got drunk in front of him, deliberately threw soda cans on the floor, and deliberately made a mess of the house, waiting to see when he'd finally break.

He stayed calm the whole time. Calmly watching me put on a show, calmly watching me make a fool of myself... and finally, calmly cleaning up my mess and taking away my allowance.

It seemed the pathetic clown who couldn't live without his ex was actually me.

It wasn't until I was crouching by the roadside, trembling because I didn't know how to hail a car, that I finally understood. The moment he asked me, "Are you done throwing a tantrum?" he'd already given me the answer.

Turns out I'm the one who'd have to sleep on the street after the divorce.
