The Frail Husband Before His Death

Feng Rou has a fiancé.

He is immensely powerful and ruthless, yet gentle and considerate toward her, attentive in every way. He would be perfect, if only he weren't sickly and destined to die young...

One day, Feng Rou noticed that several men had appeared around her.

They were all closely connected to her fiancé, and every one of them was noble-born and handsome.

Only later did Feng Rou learn

that her fiancé had sent them to her.

Li Youbai knew he didn't have long to live.

The only thing he couldn't let go of in this world was his poor, delicate fiancée.

The world was in turmoil, and he was so frail that he might not live long enough to marry her.

But if he died, how could a helpless young woman like her survive alone in such a world?

So

he could only choose a few suitable men, suppress his urge to kill them, teach them how to please her and win her favor, then train them until they were ready to send to her side.

He would personally choose a husband for her.

*

At first, none of them thought much of Feng Rou.

Every one of them was either of noble birth or exceptionally capable.

If Li Youbai hadn't been holding something over them and threatening and bribing them, who would willingly learn to bow and scrape to an ordinary woman?

But later,

they clustered around Feng Rou, using the methods Li Youbai had taught them to compete for her favor, longing for her affection while secretly watching and waiting.

They were all waiting for Li Youbai to die of his illness so they could take his place.

But no one could have imagined

that just as they were fighting tooth and nail over the position of Feng Rou's husband,

Li Youbai's illness seemed to be getting better.
