The Peculiar Yukimura

[Yukimura, a man who's hard to figure out]

Yukimura, the classmate who sits next to me, is the most beautiful person I've ever seen.

When he smiles, he's like an iris swaying in the breeze.

It's just that... every now and then, he says strange things.

Little Scene One

"Shimizu, do you think this is pretty?" Yukimura asked, holding a little daisy out to me.

I looked closely and nodded. "It's beautiful."

Yukimura smiled and gazed at me with his beautiful eyes. "It's just like you, Shimizu."

I was confused. "Hm?"

Yukimura: "Sunny, and strong, too."

I blushed. "I'm not that great..."

Then Yukimura changed the subject. "But daisies also mean 'secret love.'"

Me: ...? Secret love? Who's in love with someone? Me?

Little Scene Two

Yukimura: "Shimizu, do you have a favorite flower?"

I thought about it. "Iris, I guess."

"It's a beautiful flower," he said with a smile. "Then do you know what my favorite flowers are, Shimizu?"

Me: "Daisies, right?"

After all, he'd just said so last time.

"No," Yukimura said, slowly shaking his head. His blue-violet eyes held a smile. "I like pear blossoms and apricot blossoms."

Me: ? Pear and apricot blossoms? Because their fruit tastes good?
