This story is told entirely in the second person.
After you've lost count of how many times you've knocked the Hollow Knight to the ground and defeated the Radiance in his dream,
your mission still hasn't come to an end.
You've tried many things, but whether you take his place as the vessel sealing away the Radiance or get locked up alongside Hornet, you always return to the starting point in the blink of an eye.
In the Black Egg, the Hollow Knight, infected by the Radiance, remains chained and suspended high in the air, serving as the final line of defense against her.
At last, you leave the Black Egg Temple and begin wandering Hallownest. Then, in a hidden room in the waterways, you find a strange creature.
Finally, you tear apart the Absolute Radiance and fight your way through the Godhome. Embracing the Void gives you a sense of comfort unlike anything you've ever felt.
You think this is the end.
So what is going on now?
You've appeared somewhere entirely different from Hallownest, and even the form of your existence has changed. Now you look like a pale monster from head to toe, and your head has become a mask.
Luckily, an old acquaintance has also turned into a monster and is here with you. The Pure Vessel leans on its nail, limping, and stares at you in a daze.
You think it's time to set out on a new journey.
Unlike before, when you were driven by a mission from the Pale King,
this time, with no Radiance spreading plague, it's just a relaxed and pleasant trip between brothers... right?
Premise: Even purity can have emotions
