Grinding in Stardew Valley, but Magic Has Invaded

Aivia is a player of Stardew Valley: Special Edition. After receiving a letter from her grandfather, she comes to a farm on the outskirts of a small town, becomes a brand-new farmer, and begins a happy life of growing crops, making money, and getting rich.

From the townsfolk's perspective: A strange farmer has moved to town. She spends all day hopping around with a big red backpack, giving everyone bizarre presents, like seaweed, grubs, and bat wings. She's obsessed with rummaging through every trash can, and her behavior is downright bizarre.

The farmer often ends up with her face covered in soot. She says it's from the mines, and her radiant smile almost lights up everyone around her. "This is for you," is what the farmer says most often, before running off and vanishing from sight.

People can't put her into words. Everyone realizes that nothing much seems to have happened, yet they find themselves liking the farmer more and more.

Then one night, Aivia notices that the mushroom cave is glowing. Curious, she walks inside and finds herself in a wondrous magical land...

Elven princes! Dwarves! Creatures of the night! Werewolves!

A farm suddenly appears in a shadowy region of death at the border where the magical continent's creatures meet. Its owner is a human girl...
