My Brother Is a Good-for-Nothing From the Vongola Family

From childhood onward, the advice I heard most often came from my mother.

"Your father is a man of great status. Don't bring shame upon him."

Even though I was only an illegitimate daughter who had never met my father, living with my mother in a cheap apartment in Naples, next door to a middle-aged man who beat his family every day.

Still, because of my mother's words, I held on to an unrealistic hope and waited through years of poverty.

I imagined that one day my biological father would come to take me home, dressed in an expensive suit, and I would become a young lady with my own room and a glass of milk every morning.

I waited and waited.

When my mother could take it no longer and abandoned me to return to Japan, I learned to lie and steal. Then, one day, a boy in a black suit finally came for me.

"I'm the heir to the Vongola family. I've come to take you home, Annie."

He said it with a smile.

I asked, "Where is my father?"

"..." After a long silence, he said, "Father passed away."

"I'm sorry, Annie. I only found out about you after Father died... But don't worry, I'll do my best to be a good big brother."

The boy who called himself Dino made me this promise.

After taking in his custom-tailored suit, his diamond-studded watch, and his warm, radiant smile, a dark thought suddenly rose in me.

"All right, big brother."

I smiled sweetly. "My name is Agnes."

"Agnes" means "pure" in Greek, but I'm a bad girl who grew up in the slums, learning to lie and cheat.

Dino Vongola would never have guessed that by taking in an illegitimate daughter out of the goodness of his heart, he had let a wolf into the fold.
