Su Su thought she'd never see Zhou Yubai again in this lifetime. After all, she'd broken up with him as soon as they graduated from college. She never expected to run into him back in her hometown, let alone at a matchmaking event.

“I thought you'd find some great guy after coming back home, but look at this.” Zhou Yubai glanced at the man sitting across from her and held out his hand. “Hello, I'm your matchmaking date's ex-boyfriend.”

Every word out of his mouth was laced with venom.

Su Su shot him a cold look, then turned to the man across from her and smiled sweetly. “Mr. Shao, didn't you just ask how good I am at cooking? If you have time, I could make a couple of dishes for you to try.”

The man's displeasure instantly vanished. “Why wait? How about tomorrow?”

Zhou Yubai knew she was doing it on purpose, trying to provoke him with those words.

Just an ex-girlfriend. Did she really think he couldn't get over her?

He gave a scornful laugh. “Congratulations, Miss Su, on finding a husband. Remember to invite me to the wedding. I'll be sure to bring a generous gift.”

Then he turned and walked away, just as he had when Su Su broke up with him, without once looking back.

The next morning, someone knocked on the door again and again.

Su Su thought room service had arrived. When she opened the door, she froze. “What are you doing here?”

Zhou Yubai carried two large bags of groceries as he strode right in. “I came to see how someone who can burn her face while frying an egg plans to make two whole dishes.”

Su Su laughed. “What kind of ex-boyfriend does that?”

Having caught no scent of another man, Zhou Yubai raised an eyebrow. “You won't find another ex who comes over to cook for your current boyfriend. Where else would you find someone like me?”
