Zhu Ling won a spot in the closed beta for the Ocean Survival game. It was a lot of fun: you started with a custom ship, found treasure chests along the way, and even encountered terrifying sea monsters. Its only downside was that you could play for just seven days.

There was also a line of tiny text in the bottom-right corner of the game: Only 7 days left until online launch.

Zhu Ling randomly picked an ID, then customized a gigantic ship.

He installed the game's most advanced power, attack, recycling, defense, and diving systems... along with a presidential suite equipped with bulletproofing, waterproofing, and all sorts of other features. He also used the magic wand given to new players to keep the cruise ship clean and tidy at all times.

Zhu Ling steered his little pixel character through the wind and waves.

Because he loved farming, he earned the farming title [Weibi Babu].

Because he loved cats, he even opened a separate cat island.

And because he never littered, he earned a profession too.

Zhu Ling just thought it was fun. Tomorrow would be the eighth day, and he was curious to see what would happen.

But when he opened his eyes the next morning, Zhu Ling stared at the enormous luxury yacht beneath him, then at the endless sea, completely dumbfounded.

Holy crap.

Had the game invaded reality?

On the first day the game went live, a big shot appeared in Zone 666.

While all the other players were still bewildered, [Cats Save the World] had already scored the first kill on the server.

["Cats Save the World" defeated the sea monster, the Wandering Devil City [Mutated Devil Ray, obtaining Fish Meat *100, Fish Bones *50, Ocean Codex *1, Autopilot Fragment *1...]

Zhu Ling's gigantic ship was badly worn, and with resources scarce in the early game, he couldn't afford to maintain it.

That was until he found his first pile of garbage.

[Recycle it? Recycling will grant Island Coins *100]

Island Coins, the most precious currency in ocean survival, could be exchanged for rare supplies at the island shop!! And the shop stocked the fuel his gigantic ship needed!

Zhu Ling's eyes lit up. He hurriedly activated his diving equipment and became a diligent undersea garbage recycler.

Who says picking up garbage gets you nowhere?

You can make a fortune picking up garbage!

Later, Zhu Ling became the game's richest player.

He bought NPC islands, acquired NPC shops, hospitals, and schools, and befriended powerful NPCs.

Other players' instance games: living in a shabby dorm, accidentally triggering a rule, and dying!
