Farewell, An Du

[Historical danmei cultivation | Two powerful leads | HE | A grand immortal-demon version of "I thought..." gone spectacularly wrong]

Xie Jiangan (aloof immortal Venerable, swift sword and few words): When I wielded the Lingxiao Sword, all I could think about was "protecting the immortal realm and putting the greater good first." I never expected that the "greater good" I'd have to protect would be a lunatic carrying a demonic blade and seeking revenge on me.

Jiang Ci (vengeful Demon Venerable, holds grudges but protects his own): When I crawled out of the Ten Thousand Ghosts' Cavern, all I thought about was "revenge and protecting the demons." Instead, I fell for an immortal Venerable who kept saying "immortals and demons are different," and even forgot to take my revenge.

It wasn't until a tide of corpses swept across both realms, forcing sword and demonic blade to point at the Corpse King together, that they saw the truth:

His "greater good" was an excuse; protecting me was real. His "need for revenge" was a lie; his fear of me dying was real.

Later, the power of Lingxiao Hall mattered less than the peach blossoms of Clouddeep Valley, and a blood feud couldn't compare to half a sweet cake he offered me.

(In short: A story about a frosty Immortal Venerable and a vengeful Demon Venerable going from swords-drawn hostility to fighting the corpse tide together, protecting the peace, and eating sweet cakes. A solid HE with fiery action and plenty of sweetness.)

Theme: Through Xie Jiangan and Jiang Ci's entanglements across three lifetimes, expose the harm caused by prejudice and convey the idea that what matters is the heart, not whether one is immortal or demon. Show love and righteousness meeting halfway.
