I just finished reading the three Gong Dou Wen series recently, and they were all pretty good. The heroine of the first Gong Douwen is really sober, powerful and cautious. In the second book, the female protagonist treats the male protagonist as her boss, which feels a bit like a palace-fighting workplace novel [laughing and crying]. In the third book, the female protagonist doesn't have any palace fights and relies entirely on conquering the male protagonist.
