A Veteran Reader's Reading Slump

I don't know what's happened to novels these days, but I really can't get into them. No stories about fake and real heiresses, followed by the protagonist getting transported into the story and constantly face-slapping the real heiress. No cultivation power fantasies with an especially doting ensemble cast. I like power fantasies, but not the kind where the protagonist pretends to be low-key while hiding a secret identity. I just want something with a fresh premise!
