Synopsis:

When she was five, Jiang Tangtang found a charred fire department badge.

Everyone else saw only ruins, but Tangtang heard a gentle voice:

"Little one, Uncle's mother is still waiting to hear that he's safe."

From that day on, a retired search-and-rescue dog named General joined Tangtang, always able to find the way.

He can sniff out belongings buried by time, and she can hear the "messages home" left behind by fallen heroes.

Hugging General, Tangtang raises her little hand and calls the police: "Uncle Officer, someone in this box wants to go home!"

Later...

An anti-drug officer's badge finally finds its owner;

A wedding ring that couldn't be retrieved from a fire returns to the bride;

A letter buried in the snowy mountains for sixty years reaches the hands of a white-haired younger sister;

And one by one, names light up again before unmarked graves.

The whole internet asks: Tangtang, how do you always find them?

The little girl blinks back tears and whispers:

"It's not that Tangtang finds the uncles. They're just afraid their families will have to wait too long."

Heroine: Jiang Tangtang, five and a half, nicknamed "Little Glutinous Rice Ball." Sweet-talking and brave, she loves strawberry candy and can hear the strongest "wish to go home" in the belongings of fallen heroes. She doesn't understand big ideas. She only knows that "people who want to go home mustn't get lost again."

Divine Dog: General, nine years old, a retired search-and-rescue dog. He once took part in earthquake rescues, has a nick in his right ear, and has the steady disposition of a seasoned official. He can track the "scent of longing" and is Tangtang's most reliable four-legged partner.
