Tang Bao Uses Beast Speech to Hunt the Mountains, Feeding the Whole Village Well

Synopsis:

(Little Girl Goes Adventuring in the Mountains) (Solving Cases Through Animal Speech) (Gourmet Farming) (Family Life) (Beloved by All, Rising to the Top)

Transmigrated into a mute little girl sold into Qingshi Ravine, Meng Tangbao wakes up with only half a cold steamed bun in her hand and a little brother beside her whose stomach is growling with hunger.

Everyone says she's bad luck, that she killed her parents, and that she'll eat the Meng family out of house and home sooner or later.

But Meng Tangbao discovers that she can understand the wild animals in the mountains.

Wild boar: "There's winter bamboo shoots in that grove to the east. They're really sweet!"

Gray wolf: "Someone fell beneath the cliff. He's got a jade pendant!"

Magpie: "A noble guest has arrived in town. They're looking for medicinal food that can cure an illness."

From then on, Meng Tangbao takes her little brother into the mountains by day to gather mushrooms, dig for medicinal herbs, and catch pheasants. At night, she experiments with recipes using wild game.

Roast rabbit, mushroom hot pot, medicinal chicken soup, dried bamboo shoots with cured pork, fish slices with mountain pepper: one dish after another leaves the town's noble guests too full to move.

She earns silver with her skillful hands, protects her family with her quick tongue, and even picks up a young master who's lost his memory.

Watching her treat the wolf king like an older brother and the black bear like a neighbor, the young master can't help asking, "What else can you do?"

Meng Tangbao blinks. "Make you work for me without complaining."

Later, Meng Tangbao opens a restaurant, starts a mountain-goods business, builds irrigation channels and opens a school, leading the whole village to turn their poor mountain ravine into a golden paradise.

And the young master she picked up regains his identity.

Standing on the highest steps in the capital, he takes her hand and declares to the world, "This is my wife. Anyone who dares hurt her is my enemy."
