Wasn't This Just Acting? How Did I End Up in the Princess's Bed?

A warm, damp sensation crept up her fingertips, so hot it made her heart tremble.

The person flinched in surprise but didn't pull away. They only turned their head, revealing a sliver of their profile. Was this a dream?

Xie Yuan was the Great Qian dynasty's General Who Guards the North. Raised in the army under a male identity from childhood, she had earned the rank of general through sheer grit. Not a single person at court knew she was a woman.

By imperial decree, she was tasked with escorting Princess Yun Chu to a marriage alliance in Northern Di. The princess was a pampered royal who could order someone castrated or have their tendons cut without batting an eye, yet she acted fragile and delicate when it suited her.

Xie Yuan prided herself on being hard-hearted, but whenever she was around the princess, her heartbeat went haywire.

She didn't know that the princess, who was "about to marry into Northern Di," had already turned this escort mission into a hunt.

So who was the prey...?
