Chunfeng, the Village Girl

[Family + Marriage + Getting Revenge on the Scumbags]

Liu Chunfeng, a country girl, was young and naive when she slept with Zhang Haisheng, the man she was seeing. She thought he would marry her, but instead he spread the word about what had happened between them and hoped to use the damage to her reputation as an excuse to pay less in bride price. Once Chunfeng saw Zhang Haisheng for who he really was, she refused to marry him, no matter what. Later, Chunfeng went to work at a food factory in the county town, where she met all kinds of people, including another man. With little education, Chunfeng went through her own marriage and life while watching the people around her get married, have children, and fight. Little by little, she made a life of her own.
