The 1970s: After Lucky Baby Is Adopted, the Whole Village Weeps with Regret

[Period setting + doted-on-by-everyone child + lucky little darling + everyday life + farming]

In 1976, the Qing Shan Production Team has a "little jinx" everyone avoids.

She's four-year-old Gu Yuanyuan.

The day she was born, the family's old sow died, her father fell on the mountain and broke his leg, and later her mother died in childbirth. The villagers all say she's cursed and brings misfortune to her relatives, and that anyone who gets close to her will have bad luck.

Only Shen Jianmin, the poorest man in the village, refuses to believe it.

He was injured in a mine when he was young and left with a limp. His wife died early, and he lives alone.

Seeing that nobody wants Yuanyuan, he defies the whole village and carries her home.

Who would have thought that after Yuanyuan arrived at the Shen household, their lives would gradually get better?

The leg he broke before is suddenly good as new after the child says a few words!

The child goes up the mountain, and a heap of rabbits and pheasants run over to meet their doom.

"The bunnies are here!"

The child takes a casual walk and finds all sorts of valuable things.

Then she goes up the mountain again, digs up a little radish, and it turns out to be ginseng.

Before long, the Shen family has bought a bicycle, built a new house, and made a fortune!

One lucky break after another!

The jinx of the past has become a little bringer of good fortune!

Those who once looked down on her can only pinch their thighs in regret.
