I Save Empress Ma, Then Scare Old Zhu Half to Death by Hanging Myself

Lu Changsheng transmigrates to the Ming Dynasty and binds himself to the “Live by Dying” System.

Once he has earned enough merit and dies under mysterious circumstances, he can ascend on the spot and become an immortal!

To return to the immortal realm as soon as possible, he casually feeds a miraculous pill to Empress Ma, who's on the brink of death, from the start, instantly maxing out his merit.

Overjoyed, Lu Changsheng turns around and hangs a white silk noose in the imperial prison, under the strict watch of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, ready to close his eyes and ascend.

But this attempt to get himself killed nearly drives Zhu Yuanzhang to a breakdown!

Because Old Zhu has accidentally bound himself to a national fortune System and sees a Heavenly Dao message: [This man is the cornerstone of the Ming Dynasty's national fortune. If he dies, the Ming Dynasty will fall!]

And so, the Ming Dynasty's whole atmosphere changes.

Lu Changsheng: “Your Majesty, my crimes are unforgivable. Please, hurry up and behead me!”

Zhu Yuanzhang, drenched in sweat: “Quick! Give my order: the Embroidered Uniform Guard is to protect the Imperial Preceptor around the clock! Test every meal for poison ten times before serving it! If the Imperial Preceptor loses even one hair, I'll execute your entire clans!”

Crown Prince Zhu Biao: “My mentor is a paragon of virtue, unafraid of death. Truly the greatest sage in all history!”

Officials throughout the court admire him, and the people build shrines in his honor.

Watching his reputation soar while his body refuses to die, Lu Changsheng despairs.

“I really don't want to be the Ming Dynasty's Imperial Preceptor. I just want to die!”
