After divorcing, children's TV director Xia Donghai (played by Gao Yalin) returns to China with his son Xia Yu (played by You Haoran) to pursue his career, reuniting with his daughter Xia Xue (played by Yang Zi), who grew up in China. Later, Xia Donghai marries Liu Mei (played by Song Dandan), the head nurse at a hospital. Liu Mei is also divorced and lives alone with her son, Liu Xing (played by Zhang Yishan). In this reconstituted family of five, both parents care deeply about the children's healthy development. But they have different approaches to parenting, and the kids are all quite mischievous, leading to plenty of stories that are both hilarious and thought-provoking.
