Code Name: Blood Begonia 2

As the year draws to a close, peace and harmony reign at Haitang Tea House. Lin Haitang is sharing a drink by the stove with Lao Ying and Jianpan, waiting for the return of Li Zhe and Su Xiaoxiao, who have been missing for half a year. But when the pair finally arrive, exhausted from their journey, the reunion is not the warm family gathering it should be. From a glance, a scar, and a reflexive movement, Lin Haitang senses a bone-deep chill.

These two look so much like her son and daughter-in-law, yet something about them is terribly wrong.

When the computer alarm sounds in the dead of night, when the old scar on a wrist vanishes, when a bowl of spicy rice noodles is pushed away, Lin Haitang finally knows the truth: beneath those familiar faces lurk the knives of drug traffickers disguised through plastic surgery. The real Li Zhe and Su Xiaoxiao have long been imprisoned in a dark underground cell on the northern Thai border, their lives hanging by a thread. They were kept alive only because the drug lord needed two hostages to control Blood Haitang.

To avoid alerting the criminals, Lin Haitang must play along with the impostors posing as her family, right there among the tea and tableware. Every probe is a step along the edge of a blade, and every night could be the eve of a storm. When a shadow climbs over the courtyard wall at three in the morning, a bloody rescue mission across national borders is already quietly underway.
