Rules-Based Horror for All: Sun Wukong Lives Inside Me

【Mystery and imagination】+【Urban supernatural powers】+【Rule Horror】+【Journey to the West mythology】+【Apocalypse】+【Infinite Flow】 At midnight one day, the Heavenly Dao collapsed. Eighty-one rifts in the rules tore open the mortal world. Each was an independent horror scenario: follow the rules to survive, break them and die, and clear a scenario to obtain a fragment of divine power. College student Sun Xing was sent flying by a truck. As he hovered on the brink of death, a wisp of a remnant soul entered his body: Sun Wukong. From then on, he could “smell” the rules. The stench of rust meant forbidden, the scent of flowers meant temptation, and the smell of blood meant a price had to be paid. With every level he cleared, he unlocked another divine ability and became a little more like a monkey: golden fur spread from the back of his hand up his forearm, vertical pupils replaced his human eyes, and his memories vanished one by one. He found it harder and harder to tell who he really was. One teammate took someone else’s punishment and turned white-haired as frost. One brother became addicted to devouring people, crying as he said he didn’t want to eat anyone. One comrade was so terrified of making a mistake that he broke down. With eighty-one rules, the more levels he cleared, the further he drifted from humanity. When he was ninety percent monkey, with only his left eye still his own, the final rule had no answer: Abandon his humanity and become a Buddha, or keep living as a human in pain? He chose a third path.
