Rule Horror: My Infinite Murder-Mystery Game

I’m Lin Xiao, an utterly ordinary college student.

One day, I blinked and found myself dumped in a hellhole called the “Scripted Murder Mystery Game.”

Other people draw identity cards like “Heir to a Celestial Master,” “Exorcist’s Disciple,” or “Successor to the Yin-Yang Eyes.”

I draw: “Background NPC.”

Well, fine. Guess I’m cannon fodder.

In the first instance, “Midnight Funeral Hall,” a red-clad ghost is chasing everyone through the building and slaughtering them.

Just as its claws are about to rip out my heart, I grab the ledger and slam it on the table. “What are you yelling about? Can’t you see I’m doing the accounts? Get lost!”

And then the ghost really does get lost.

The System crashes on the spot: [Warning! Data overflow! Identity assessment failed!]

My teammates look at me as if I’m more terrifying than the ghost.

Later, I flip over the cradle of a yandere ghost doll, kick Sadako’s TV flying, and rip off the slit-mouthed woman’s mask to use as a rag...

Every ghost and monster drops to its knees: “Spare us, boss!”

The System finally updates my identity information:

[Hidden Identity: Lord of All Ghosts]

[Awakening Progress: 0.01%]

[Helpful Reminder: The ghosts you’ve scared to tears in the past have filed a joint complaint. Please prepare yourself.]

Me: ???

Wait, the awakening progress is only 0.01%... Once the remaining 99.99% awakens, will I control the ghosts, or will the ghosts control me?
