After Eloping with My Archrival, We Pretend Not to Know Each Other at Work

The day Wen Song mailed out the divorce papers, her company held a meeting to introduce a new executive who had parachuted in.

The newly returned CEO stood onstage in a sharp suit, his expression cool, as if he were seeing her for the first time.

Only Wen Song knew that the man standing beside her on her marriage certificate was him.

A year ago, to escape the arranged marriages their families had planned for them, they agreed to marry on a whim and part amicably a year later. On the seventh day of their marriage, Zhou Xuheng left for overseas. They had never even lived together.

Now their agreement had expired, and he had become her direct supervisor.

At the office, they clashed at every turn and refused to give an inch in meetings.

After work, he showed up at her door with a suitcase. “Mrs. Zhou, my family’s coming to check up on me. Let me stay here for seven days.”

Wen Song stepped aside. “Rent is charged by the day. Utilities are extra.”

Later, their marriage certificate was accidentally exposed, and everyone said Wen Song had climbed the ladder on her husband’s coattails.

Zhou Xuheng voluntarily withdrew from the judging panel and handed the decision over to a completely anonymous bid.

When the results were announced, Wen Song’s proposal came in first.

With cameras trained on them, she looked at him. “Mr. Zhou, do you recognize me now?”

He smiled.

“We’ve only just met at work.”

“At home, I’ve been pursuing you for a year.”
