Apocalypse Blind Boxes: The Years I Stole Lives to Repay Debts

The wristband displayed: Balance: 23 hours. Debt: -147,000 hours. That meant if I didn’t top up my time within 23 hours, I’d be dead! My name is Wang Wenchuan, and I owe 147,000 hours. I inherited the debt. My dad owed it, and when he died, it became mine. The debt collection team emptied my rental apartment and left me with a pillow. Then my golden finger finally arrived: a bizarre skill. It was called “Blind Box Pickpocketing.” If I brushed past someone, whatever they had on them became mine. It could be time, memories, or some random trinket they were carrying. What I stole depended on luck, which was exactly why it was called a blind box. What’s more, it took the other person 30 minutes to realize what they’d lost. By then, I’d be three streets away. With my golden finger, I rose to the top of the world. They called me a business genius, saying I always did the right thing at the right time. They had no idea I’d stolen my competitors’ memories. My 3,000-square-meter warehouse was piled high with memory fragments and personal belongings stolen from the richest people in the city. But when I stood among them, all they ever said was, “That young man sure is lucky!”
